Happy New Year! Hoping your year has gotten off to a great start. If not, don’t worry there are another two times this year that you can embrace New Year energy. Yes, that is right there are three times throughout the year that New Year energy is available to us. There is the New Year that we all know based upon the Gregorian calendar, plus the Chinese New Year and the Astrological New Year. These are further discussed below.
- The Gregorian Calendar has 1st January as the beginning of the new year in honor of Janus the Roman God. He is the God of beginnings, gates, transitions, time, duality, doorways, passages, frames, and endings. With this in mind, call upon Janus throughout the month of January to guide you to fulfil your dreams and desires for the coming year.
- The Chinese New Year is based on the Moon cycles and is the date of the first New Moon of the year (which maybe in January or early February) and the beginning of Spring in China. The new moon of every month signifies new beginnings and is a great time for new starts and renewal. Traditionally the New Moon is the time to make seven wishes. During the time between the New Moon and the Full Moon energy is growing bringing a new burst of energy to all your efforts and supporting all you wish to put in motion. For this reason Chinese New Year is celebrated until the next Full Moon, welcoming the abundant new energy for the all they wish for throughout the year. This year is the year of the Green Snake. Like a snake shedding its skin, 2025 is giving you the opportunity to shed yours and providing you with the opportunity to create a new way of being by letting go of all that you have outgrown be it thoughts, habits, friends, careers …. How will you embrace this energy to make it work for you?
- When the Sun moves into Aires on 21st March the Astrological New Year begins. This corresponds to the Spring Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere (and the Autumn Equinox in the Southern Hemisphere). Aires is a fire sign, full of energy, motivation and movement which will allow you to take great leaps forward in all areas of your life.
